Type locality: none given by GRAY (but state as Tobago by BOULENGER 1885)

TypesType: BMNH 1946.9.7.16 (and possibly additional specimens). 
Diagnosis 
CommentDistribution: Does not occur on Trinidad or Venezuela according to JC Murphy (pers. comm.).

Behavior: mainly diurnal 
EtymologyFrom lat. ocellus = diminuitive of oculus: eye; apparently referring to the ocellus on the side of the species..
