Types	Lectotype: BMNH 1946.1.18.89 (formerly 76.3.4.25), purchased Godeffroy Museum, designation by Wells & Wellington (1985). Holotype: AMS R112 7, from Moree, N. S. W. [Hoplocephalus suboccipitalis].

Comment	Synonymy partly after COGGER 1983. Venomous!
Etymology	Named after the collector of the types, Mr. Dämel.
