Distribution	Sao Tome I, Principe I ? (Gulf of Guinea). Type locality: "I'Ilheo das Rolas, ilot situé au sud de l'Ile St. Thomé" [= Rolas Island, south of Sao Tomé Island, Gulf of Guinea, West Africa].

Types	Holotype: MB (Museu Bocage) 1890.

Comment	Not on Principé according to HOFER (2002).
Etymology	named after Mr. F. Newton, the collector of the holotype.
