Diagnosis 
CommentLiolaemus hatcheri STEJNEGER 1909 has been removed from synonymy of L. magellanicus by ETHERIDGE 1998.

Group: hatcheri group (Olave et al. 2014), formerly lineomaculatus group. 
EtymologyNamed after Professor John Bell Hateher (1861-1904), a geologist and paleontologist at Yale, Princeton, and the Carnegie Museum.
