Diagnosis 
CommentThe former subspecies L. p. curicensis has been raised to full species status. 
EtymologyNamed after Dr. Ludwg Hermann Plate (1862-1937), a German zoologist, geneticist, and Haeckel's successor as Professor at Jena (1909-1935). For biographical notes see Beolens et al. 2011 and Levit and Hoßfeld 2006.
