Type locality: “900 m elevation, Chubut, Argentina (some 80 km to west from Telsen), on southern rocky slopes of the basaltc Somuncurá plateau".

Comment 
EtymologyNamed after the rocky area of its habitat, especially the Cortaderia bushes, a very common gras, which in the native language (Tehuelche Meridional) of local people are called “Telsen”.
