Type locality: Japan (“Tokyo” fide STEJNEGER 1907)  
TypesHolotype: ZMB 9419, a 300 mm specimen (F. Hilgendorf, May 1874). 
CommentHilgendorf’s paper appears to have been published before GÜNTHER’s according to STEJNEGER 1907.
