Type locality: Cabatacan Barrio, Lasam, Cagayan Province, Luzon Island (18°00'N, 121°35'E)  
TypesHolotype:-PNM 2046, an adult female captured on 28 April 1989, by H. Ota. Paratype.-USNM 319290, a juvenile female, (17°05'N, 121°25'E) 
DiagnosisDiagnosis. This species is distinct from other congeneric species in having the loreal nearly square and separated from the upper preocular, 198-203 ventral scales, and 13-14 transverse light bands only on the anterior three-fourths of the body, and by lacking keels on dorsal scales. 
EtymologyThe species epithet solivagus derives from the Latin solus and vagus meaning wandering alone, because the holotype was collected by us as it was wandering solitarily.
