Type locality: Percy Fyfe Nature Reserve (24°2’S, 29°5’E), Potgietersrus District, Transvaal (now Limpopo Province)  
TypesHolotype: DNMNH (= TM) 58940, adult male 
EtymologyThe species is named for the conspicuous granite rock formations upon which it lives. The specific epithet is a masculine adjective.
