Type locality: “northern or central Mato Grosso" (Brazil)

EtymologyLatin albicinctus comes from alba meaning white and cinctus meaning banded or girdled; thus, the white-banded one. The name waehnerorum is dedicated to Mr. and Mrs. Wahner, a German couple who collected snakes in the Amazon region and presented them to the Dresden Museum in Germany.
