DistributionIndonesia (Sulawesi, Buton, Sula Islands)

Type locality: "Boni" (= Bone valley, N Sulawesi, Indonesia)
TypesHolotype: BMNH 1946.1.2.52
Syntype: NMBA, apparently on permanent loan at BMNH (pers. comm. A. Amarasinghe, 19 Feb 2021) [Oligodon teaniurus]
CommentSynonymy: WAGNER (30 July 2002, pers. comm.) synonymized Oligodon propinquus with Oligodon waandersi based on an examination of the types. The locality of propinquus ["Java"] is most certainly incorrect. However, DAVID & VOGEL 2012 list the species as valid.
