Type locality: Cañon de Tolima (near Ibagué, Tolima)  
Reproductionoviparous 
TypesHolotype: MZM (also as LMB), a 240 mm female (Fassl, Jan.-March 1910). 
Diagnosis 
CommentThis is the only species of Oxyrhopus in Colom- bia having complete body bands but also is distinctive for having fewer scale rows (17, reducing to 15).
