Diagnosis | DESCRIPTION: Size moderate (SVL in males to 124 mm, to 97 mm in females); dorsal caudal scales keeled and straight; ventral scales 8-10 in a transverse row and 32-37 in a longitudinal row; fourth toe subdigital lamellae 63-80 (combined counts for both fourth toes); femoral pores 39-56 (combined counts for both series); fifteenth caudal verticil with 28-35 scales. Dorsal ground color (male) dull brown (Long I.), dark brown (Barbuda), or reddish brown (Antigua); dorsum with irregular, transverse, pale green, creamy green (Barbuda), or buffy blotches, sometimes clearly composed of coalesced spots; head clear, reddish brown (Long I.) or tan with orange snout (Antigua); flanks dull gray, greenish (Antigua), or pale bluish green and tan (Barbuda) with obscure, transverse markings and black spots; throat dirty gray with some black scales; hindlimb with pale green to buffy dots; posterior surface of femur white; tail base with pale green dots; mesoptychium black (sometimes white under fold); ventral ground color very pale greenish blue (Antigua and Long I.), gray (Barbuda) to white (Long I.); chest black with irregular posterior border (Schwartz & Henderson 1991: 194). |
