Diagnosis | DESCRIPTION: Size small (SVL in males to 59 mm, in females to 54 mm); dorsal caudal scales smooth and oblique; ventral scales 8-10 (strongly modally 8) in a transverse row and 26-33 in a longitudinal row; fourth toe subdigital scales 57-77 (combined counts for both fourth toes); femoral pores 23-35 (combined counts for both series); fifteenth caudal verticil with 14-21 scales. Dorsum strongly lineate with 9-14 black longitudinal lines, separated by cream to buffy longitudinal lines on trunk, reduced to 6-9 black lines on neck just posterior to auricular opening, and to 6-10 on sacrum between hindlimbs; head pattern either: (a) a diamond-shaped pale figure on snout, or (b) black ground with continuation of some of the pale dorsal lines as far anterior as snout; hindlimbs dotted with black and white or lined on upper surfaces; forelimbs with a lineate, black-and-white pattern; hands and feet blue; tail bright, electric blue to greenish blue, the dorsal black and pale stripes continuing onto tail proximally; venter white to pinkish or pale, clear blue (Schwartz & Henderson 1991: 195).
