TypesHolotype: MNHN-RA 1886.0211, a 200 mm specimen (J. Savorgnan de Brazza)
Holotype: RMCA 4771 (also given as RGMC), collected by Bocq in 1926 [laurenti] 

Synonyms: all 3 subspecies are synonyms of fulvicollis (fide V. WALLACH, pers. comm.). Miodon gracilis DE WITTE & LAURENT 1943 is preoccupied by Elapocalamus gracilis BOULENGER 1911.

Subspecies: Polemon fulvicollis graueri (STERNFELD 1908) is now considered a full species.
