Type locality: Parana, “Campos von Palmas und gegen die Grenze von Matto Grosso hin”.

TypesLectotype, SMF 19867 (orig. 9111,2a), a 690 mm specimen (A. Haas, 1905), designated by Mertens, 1967: 96. 
Diagnosis 
CommentZAHER et al. (2008) nicely illustrate the ontogenetic shift of color patterns in this species. 
EtymologyNamed after the collector of the type specimen, Albrecht Haas.
