Diagnosis
CommentSynonymy: mainly after DAVID & VOGEL 1996 and VOGEL et al. 2016 who removed Rabdion torquatum DUMÉRIL et al. 1854 from the synonymy of P. longiceps. Kirchhof et al. 2016 synonymized Stenorhabdium temporale (formerly a synonym of Prosymna stuhlmanni, following Loveridge 1958) with Pseudorabdion longiceps.

Distribution: Probably not on Sulawesi (from where it was reported by DE ROOIJ, 1917, Leviton & Brown 1959 and others). DE LANG & VOGEL (2005) and Koch 2012 consider this species as “doubtful” for Sulawesi.

Similar species: P. torquatum. Both species can be distinguished only by meristic characters (see Diagnosis in P. torquatum).
EtymologyApparently named after the long head (Latin “-ceps), but the head is not longer than in eiselti (Doria & Petri 2010, Table 3).
