Etymology | The Latin lunaei refers to a Dr. Luna who collected the type. The Latinized surname Luna becomes lunae in the genitive case, even though Luna was a man. There is no provision in the Code for an extra terminal -i (Art. 31 of the Code, ICZN, 1999). |
