Diagnosis
CommentKnown from only a single specimen.

Synonymy: Stegonotus dorsalis is listed as synonym of S. diehli by Wallach et al. 2014. Kaiser et al. 2018 resurrected Stegonotus dorsalis as valid species. However, given that it is only known from a single specimen of uncertain origin, we leave it in the synonymy of S. diehli for the time being.
EtymologyNamed in honor of the German protestant missionary Wilhelm Diehl (1874-1940), who sent the specimens from New Guinea to Wiesbaden.
