DistributionSW Iran (Hormozgan, Khuzestan, Bushehr), SE/C Iraq

Type locality: Tanjistan, Persia (= Iran).  
Reproductionoviparous 
TypesTypes: BMNH 84.7.25.1/1946. 8.23.33; BM 87.9.22.2/1946.8.23.60. 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: Medium-sized, up to at least 60 mm from snout to vent; toes not depressed, at most slightly fringed, three rows of scales beneath; rostral and sometimes upper labial scales reach nostril which is directed forwards and sometimes upwards and somewhat outwards; preanal pores often present, cloacal tubercles in a single row; autotomy restricted to tail-base; prefrontal projection absent or weak; upper border of prootic sloping downwards to some extent; epipterygoid separated from skull roof in protracted skull; 25 presacral vertebrae; 6 nuchal ribs; 4-6 basal caudal vertebrae; clavicle expanded; tail not dark, but with about 6 to 8 dark bands [ARNOLD 1980: 391].
