DiagnosisDIAGNOSIS. The only subspecies with 15 scale rows (Christman 1982).

Color: Storeria victa, unlike other brown snakes, has 15 midbody scale rows of dorsal scales. Most individuals are faintly speckled cinnamon to blue-gray above. There is an indistinct light-colored vertebral stripe bordered by a row of dark spots or smudges, while a wide pale band crosses the rear of the head, followed by a darker band across the nape. Directly below the eye is a pronounced brown spot. The tan or pinkish venter is unmarked except for black dots along its outer edges and the 15 midbody rows of dorsal scales are strongly keeled (Tennant & Bartlett 2000).
CommentThis species was discovered and described in the stomach of a Micrurus fulvius from Florida.
