Type locality: Jampea Island (= Tanahdjampea Island, Sulawesi Sulatan, Indonesia)  
Reproductionovovivparous 
TypesType: BMNH 1896.4.29.46 (and possibly additional specimens). 
Diagnosis 
CommentVenomous! T. fasciatus is a close relative of Trimeresurus insularis.

Habitat: partly arboreal (Harrington et al. 2018). 
EtymologyNamed after Latin fascia = band, for the dorsal cross-bands in this species (which can also look like blotches though)
