Type locality: Brazil, Minas Gerais, Buritis. Lat -15.6178, Long -46.4233.

DiagnosisDiagnosis: RODRIGUES 1987: 188. 
CommentDistribution: Probably also in Bolivia (fide LANGSTROTH 2005). See map in Carvalho et al. 2023: 33 (Fig. 13).

Habitat: rocks

Diet: a large percentage of the diet of this species (10-80%) consists of ants (Lucas et al. 2023). 
Etymology“o nome da espécie vem de Oreades, termo utilizado por K.F.P. von Martius para se referlr a uma das provincias floristicas brasileiras; atualmente equivalente à área nuclear des cerrados, onde a espécie é abundante.”
