| Diagnosis | Diagnosis: Very close to A. dissimilis including the presence of a distinctive tail crest, but with a blunter, shorter head, a differentiated anterior nasal scale, a larger interparietal with larger scales surrounding the interparietal and more lamellae under phalanges ii and iii of fourth toe. | Comment | Species groups: Dactyloa punctata species group (fide NICHOLSON et al. 2012). Synonymy: Poe 2025 suggests to synonymize this species with either A. extremus or A. aeneus, given its similarity with these species and the fact that they have been known to “invade” Venezuela from the Lesser Antilles (Peters & Donoso-Barros 1970; Rivas et al. 2012). There are no data in Williams’s description that distinguish the A. deltae type specimen from these species. |
