DiagnosisDiagnosis (n=1): Eine Art der Gattung Anolis aus der Verwandtschaft von limifrons, aber durch eine heterogene Beschuppung an den Rumpfseiten gekennzeichnet, indem zwischen die Körnchenschuppen größere, gekielte Schuppen eingestreut sind. Bauchschuppen glatt, mittlere Dorsalschuppen vergrößert, jedoch viel kleiner als die Bauchschuppen, gekielt, in die Körnchenschuppen der Flanken allmählich übergehend. Supraorbitale. CommentSubspecies: Fitch & Seigel (1984) suggested that heteropholidotus might be a subspecies of A. sminthus.

Synonymy: Not listed by Nicholson et al. 2018. MEYER & WILSON 1971 considered it as a synonym of A. sminthus but recent authors listed the species as valid.
