Type locality: "Pweto (Distr. du Haut-Katanga), Congo Belge," [Zaire].

Similar species: Aparallactus moeruensis is very similar to and may be a synonym of A. capensis or A. lunulatus.

Abundance: apparently only known from the holotype. 
EtymologyNamed after the type locality, Latinized for "from Moeru", after Lake Mweru or Mwero, located on the border between Zambia and Democratic Republic of the Congo.
