Calumma tsycorne is most similar to C. cucullatum, but can be distinguished by the form of the posterior helmet (blunt with a short transverse margin vs. elon- gate, forming an extreme point), gular crest (present vs. absent), and male rostral appen- dages (absent vs. present as a pair). | Etymology | Named after a Malagasy combination of words: “tsy” meaning “no”, and the latin name “corne” = horn, referring to the lack of a rostral appendage in this species. |
