| Types | Holotype: DoSMB 05080, an adult male collected by S.R. Chandramouli in June 2017. Paratypes: DoSMB 05090 and DoSMB 05092, two adult females and DoSMB 05096, an adult male from the vicinity of the type locality. Collector and date same as the holotype. |
| Diagnosis | Diagnosis and comparisons: (Table 1, Figs. 9–13). A medium-sized species of Coryphophylax endemic to Car Nicobar, characterized by the following features: adult males measuring 68.76–70.92 mm SVl (mean 69.84 mm), females 63.25–72.30 mm SVl (mean 67.78 mm) with a long tail 145–200 mm (mean 177 mm) about 2.5 times longer than the body; mid-body scales in 80–121 rows with two to three rows of slightly enlarged scale rows on either sides of the trunk; nuchal and dorsal crests well developed in males, situated on a flap of skin on the dorsal surface of the neck, comprising 16–18 pointed, lanceolate triangular scales; separated from the dorsal crest extending on the body by a short gap at the level of the shoulder; anterior subcaudals distinctly enlarged and hexagonal; 30–36 lamellae under toe IV; dewlap in males bears black spots and streaks; iris yellowish in males, brown in females. | Etymology | Named after Dr. Shreyas Krishnan (university of Texas at Arlington), who initiated the study on inter-island variations shown by the agamid genus Coryphophylax in the early 2000s and generated all of the available genetic data for this genus of lizards. he also taught the basics of agamid systematics to the author. |
