Limb morphology: 5 digits, 5 toes (Singhal et al. 2018, Cogger 2014)

Conservation: this is one of the most-threatened reptile species in Australia (Geyle et al. 2021).

Abundance: Rare. 
Etymology“Serotinus is Latin for “late happening”, thus serving as an allusion to C. serotinus being the most recently discovered member of the complex” (Czechura, 1986). (G. Shea, pers. comm., 9 Feb 2024)
