Type locality: “Tsivono, region de Tuléar, à 24 kilomètres au Nord de cette ville”  
Reproductionoviparous (phylogenetic imputation, fide Zimin et al. 2022) 
TypesLectotype: MNHN-RA 1924.0091 (lectotype) and MNHN-RA 1924.0090 (paralectotype) 
Diagnosis 
CommentEyeless and earless species with no forelimbs but small, reduced, styliform hindlimbs. 
EtymologyNamed after Georges Petit, who collected in Madagascar between 1920-1922. (Glenn Shea, pers. comm., 2 Feb 2024)
