DiagnosisDiagnosis: Transverse series of ventral plates with notches between plates, in 6 (rarely 8) longitudinal series; collar strongly serrated; usually 2 superposed postnasals, 25-29 subdigital lamellae under fourth toe; 37-49 dorsals at midbody; tympanic shield present; 17-21 femoral pores, row ofpores complete up to knee; rarely over 20 temporal scales; fifth submaxillary well developed (Anderson 1999: 247).
