| Etymology | Named after Miss Lucy Evelyn Cheesman (1881-1969), an entomologist, explorer, and traveler who made a number of expeditions to the Galapagos Islands, New Guinea, the New Hebrides, and the Solomon Islands (1924-1936). She worked for many years as a volunteer at the Natural History Museum, London, and was the first female Curator at the London Zoo. She collected the holotype of this skink. |
