| Comment | Similar species: Luperosaurus yasumai most closely resembles Luperosaurus joloensis and Luperosaurus palawanensis but is distinct from any other congeneric species in having fewer scansors on toe IV (seven) and a strongly depressed tail. The name is honoring Shigeki Yasuma, who “has made a great contribution to the progress of research and conservation of wildlife in Kalimantan”. Abundance: only known from the type locality (Meiri et al. 2017).  |
