| Diagnosis | Diagnosis: Allied to L. diadema, but with widely spaced black dorsal crossbars; preoculars three on each side; 10 lower labials [from SCHMIDT 1939]. | Comment | Distribution: not in Iraq fide Habeeb & Rastegar-Pouyani 2016. For a map see Sindaco et al. 2013 and Pola et al. 2026: Fig. 1. Phylogenetics: L. gaddi and l. kennedyi are closely related and show less genetic dstance from each other than populations within L. diadema, hence they may be considered as subspecies of L. gaddi. However, Pola et al. 2026 chose to “provisionally” treat them as full species. |
