| Comment | Uncommon and restricted to a few localities. Behavior: Appears to be extremely secretive. Type species: Eumeces garnieri Bavay 1869 is the type species of the genus Monophorus COPE 1892, a nomen oblitum and a synonym of Phoboscincus, fide Shea 2021. |
