Type locality: Ampamakiesiny Pass 14 km NW of Ranomafana-Sud, Tolanaro (Fort Dauphin) Fivondronana, Toliara (Tuléar) Province, Madagascar, 24° 32’ S, 47° 51’ E, 800 m elevation.

DiagnosisDiagnosis: A Pseudoxyrhopus with 21 rows of dorsal scales at midbody, 8 supralabials, bluntly rounded snout, subcaudals divided, white line on supralabials and rostral, and dark brown dorsal coloration on body. 
Comment 
EtymologyNamed after the Malagasy word “sokosoko”, meaning “approaching or goes secretly or stealthily”, referring to the secretive and nocturnal habits of this species.
