Type locality: Rincón Bamba, 22 mls. S.W. of Tehuantepec, 8 miles from the coast at Bahía Bamba, Isthmus of Tehuantepec, Oaxaca, Mexico.

Diagnosis 
CommentSexual dimorphism: Male and female S. macdougalli are strikingly different (Mendoza-Quijano et al. 2002).
