Diagnosis
Comment	Group: Diplodactylus strophurus group (subgenus Strophurus). Reference images: see Uetz et al. 2024 for high-resolution reference images for this species.
Etymology	Named after Australian herpetologist Peter Rankin who died in January 1979 while he tried to catch geckos.
