| Diagnosis | Diagnosis: Telescopus mazuchi is distinguished from all other species of Telescopus by the combination of the following characters: (1) 21 dorsal scales at the anterior body; (2) 23 dorsal scales at midbody; (3) 15 dorsal scales at the posterior body; (4) a single anal scale; (5) two elongated temporal scales, subequal in size and length or at least subequal in length, elongated; (6) one pair of chin shields; (7) 212–232 (X = 222.3) ventral scales; (8) 56–77 (X = 68.2) subcaudals; (9) 240 dorsal scales; (10) 10–11 (X = 10.3) supralabial scales; (11) 13 infralabial scales; (12) four dorsal scales in contact with parietal scale; (13) 10 temporal/post-temporal scales in contact with parietal scale; (14) presence of apical pit on each dorsal scale distally; (15) dorsal head similar in colour to the dorsal body (brownish grey); (16) ventral body cream; and (17) dorsal body and flanks almost all homogeneous brownish grey.
