Similar species: Among the paratypes one from Bivak Island, Lorentz River (RMNH 8670), was determined by Malnate & Underwood (1988) to be picturatus and five specimens from the Utakwa River (BMNH 1913.11.1.100-104) were assigned to mcdowelli. They include in multiscutellatus 13 of the specimens listed by Brongersma as Natrix mairii subsp. |
