CommentSynonymy: SPRACKLAND (1993) and BÖHME (2002) do not recognize V. d. heteropholis and synonymized it with V. dumerilii. 
EtymologyNamed after Dr. Andre Marie Constant Dumeril (1774-1860), French zoologist and herpetologist.
