Type locality: Wotjulum, West Kimberley, W. A. (16°11’S, 123°37’E).  
Reproductionparthenogenetic, at least occasionally.

DiagnosisDiagnosis: A smooth, slender, flat-headed, long-tailed, long-limbed, medium-sized rock monitor (up to 79 cm long) with tail slightly compressed; coloration distinctive (head, neck and usually foreback dark and unpatterned; back blackish with transverse rows of blue-grey ocelli; and tail boldly banded with black and white). EtymologyNamed after Ludwig Glauert (1879-1963) British-born geologist who emigrated to Western Australia (1908) where he worked as a paleontologist and later joined the Western Australian Museum in Perth of which he became director in 1954.
