DistributionE Turkey (north of Lake Van)

Type locality: “Provinzgrenze Van/Agri, 30 km NW Erçis, 2000 m, Türkei”  
Reproductionparthenogenetic "species", probably resulting from hybridization between D. valentini and D. raddei (SCHMIDTLER et al. 1994). 
TypesHolotype: ZSM 170/1993, female; Paratypes: ZFMK 57136, ZSM CAS, NMW. 
Diagnosis 
CommentAbundance: only known from the type locality (Meiri et al. 2017). 
Etymologyafter “saphire”, a blue gem, referring to the characteristic blue lateral spots in this species.
