Type locality: Aneiteum Island (New Hebrides), Tongatabu Island.

Diagnosis 
CommentListed as synonym of Gymnodactylus pelagicus pelagicus by WERMUTH 1965: 64 (fide BOULENGER 1885).

Distribution: not corrected for removal from synonymy. Not listed by BAUER & VINDUM (1990) for New Caledonia.
