Holotype: NMNHU Re 11 (given as IZANU by Barabanov & Ananjeva 2007) [shammakowi] 
Diagnosis 
CommentBARABANOV & ANANJEVA 2007 list shammakowi as a synonym of rossikowi. 
EtymologyNamed after Konstantin Nikolaevich Rossikow (often Rossikov) (b. 1854), a zoologist, ichthyologist, arachnologist, and "zoographer." He graduated from the University of St. Petersburg and traveled in the Northern Caucasus region (1890), where he mentioned seeing "multi-colored" vipers.
