Comment	Species group: Norops auratus Species Group (fide Nicholson et al. 2012)
Etymology	Named after Dr. Charles Congden Carpenter (b. 1921), an American herpetologist. He received a doctorate (1951) from the University of Michigan and later went to the University of Oklahoma (1953-1987), first as Assistant Professor, becoming Associate Professor (1959) and Professor (1966).
