Diagnosis 
CommentThe paper by O’SHAUGHNESSY is not present in our AMNH collection. A. andianus has been synonymized with A. gemmosus by Williams & Duellman (1984).

Species groups: Dactyloa punctata species group (fide NICHOLSON et al. 2012). 
EtymologyNamed after Latin gemmosus, richly set with jewels. [“...Colours prettily variegated...”]. (from Esteban Lavilla, pers. comm., May 2024)
