Type locality: Colombia, Magdalena, Cuchilla Hierbabuena, 4 km SE San Pedro de la Sierra, Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.

Diagnosis 
CommentSpecies groups: Dactyloa punctata species group (fide NICHOLSON et al. 2012).

Abundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). 
EtymologyNamed after Latin menta, mint. [“...These new, pale green animals were collected on a ridge that bears the Spanish name for mint — Cuchilla Hierbabuena — and, since these aromatic plants grew in a small pasture just below the collection site, we call the new species by the Latin name for mint...”].
