CommentIllustration: photograph in Chippaux (1999 and 2001) is actually D. scabra (fide PAUWELS & BRANCH in HR 34: 272).

Authorship: Chifundera (1990) gave Leach 1818 as first describer of D. palmarum.

Distribution: Not reported from Benin according to ULLENBRUCH et al. 2010, but probably present there (Hughes 2013). See map in GÖTHEL 2015: 19. Not in Senegal, Gambia, Mali fide Göthel 2015: 19, Bates & Broadley 2018. For a map with localities in Equatorial Guinea see SÁNCHEZ-VIALAS et al. 2022.

Habitat. Lowland forest at elevations of about 1000 m to 1147 m (Katera).
