CommentType species: Mastigodryas danieli AMARAL 1935: 158 is the type species of the genus Mastigodryas AMARAL 1935 (1934 fide Smith 1963).

Synonymy: Mastigodryas danieli has been considered as a synonym of M. boddaerti fide Smith 1963. Smith 1963 requested to suppress the name Mastigodryas and to use Dryadophis instead.

Distribution: not in Ecuador fide Omar Torres-Carvajal, pers. comm., 8 Sep 2016.

Habitat: partly arboreal (Harrington et al. 2018). 
EtymologyNamed after Rev. Irmão Daniel, the collector (or donor) of the type.
